More water restrictions begin in Morganton today.

The city has now banned all lawn watering, residential car washing, and running ornamental fountains.

Residents can hand water or use drip hose irrigation on flowers, trees, shrubs and vegetable gardens.

Residents caught in violation face a $50 fine for a first offense.
