Huntingdon Baseball Program Announce 27 Newcomers

MONTGOMERY, Ala. ---- The Huntingdon baseball program and sixth-year head coach D.J. Conville has announced the addition of 27 newcomers who have completed their intent to enroll paperwork and have committed to play for the Hawks next season.
Parker Adams (P/1B, Boaz, Ala./Boaz HS), Evan Agnew (P/OF, Union Springs, Ala./Macon-East Academy), Stevie Argo (P/OF, Phenix City, Ala./Glenwood School), David Bazylak, Jr. (P/OF, Destin, Fla./South Walton HS), Stephen Bishop (OF, Valley, Ala./Valley HS/Chattahoochee Valley CC), Greg Clayton (INF, Jacksonville, Ala./Jacksonville HS/Berry College), Alan Clemons (P, Montgomery, Ala./Alabama Southern CC), Joe Corley (P, Axis, Ala./Satsuma HS/Bishop State CC), Brent Cunningham (OF, Daphne, Ala./Daphne HS), Wesley Guy (INF, Sylacauga, Ala./Sylacauga HS), Heath Haggard (C, Birmingham, Ala./Shades Mountain Christian), Lucas Haynes (P, Lineville, Ala./Lineville HS), Parker Hogan (OF/C, Danville, Ala./Danville HS), Max Johnson (UTIL, Prattville, Ala./New Life Christian Academy), Keegan Lambeth (INF, Flomaton, Ala./Flomaton HS), Patrick McPherson (OF, Century, Fla./Northview HS), Ryan Payne (P, Opelika, Ala./Opelika HS/Lawson State CC), Matt Robbins (P/INF, Montgomery, Ala./Brewbaker Tech HS), Jesse Skaggs (UTIL, Montgomery, Ala./Robert E. Lee HS), Hunter Smith (C, Greenville, Ala./Ft. Dale Academy), Marty Stewart (INF, Childersburg, Ala./Childersburg HS/Wallace-Hanceville CC), Lucas Tucker (P/INF, Lynn Haven, Fla./Mosley HS), Cody Turner (C, Prattville, Ala./Prattville HS/Jeff Davis CC), Austin White (INF, Montgomery, Ala./LAMP HS), Matt Whitton (INF, Enterprise, Ala./Enterprise HS/Enterprise-Ozark CC), Owen Williams (C, Robertsdale, Ala./Robertsdale HS) and Trace Zarr (P, Bay Minette, Ala./Baldwin County HS) have been accepted to Huntingdon and will suit up for the Hawks during the 2010 season.
“I am very excited about the addition of this class to our baseball program,” Conville said. “In addition to being skilled players, they are quality young men and will be good ambassadors for Huntingdon College. This class is another step in the right direction toward where we are looking to take the Hawks baseball program and will provide a solid foundation to build around for the next four years.”
Huntingdon, the Great South Athletic Conference Regular Season Champions, finish the 2009 season with a 26-15 overall record and a 6-3 mark in league play.
