MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- AUM’s Brandi Richards tossed her second no-hitter of the season in the opener and Stephanie Baxley and Danielle Ryan followed that up with a combined no-hitter in the night cap as the Huntingdon softball team dropped a doubleheader to the Lady Senators on Wednesday afternoon at the Huntingdon Softball Field.

The Hawks fell in game one, 3-0, while dropping game two, 5-0. The losses drop Huntingdon to 4-12-1 on the season, while AUM improves to 15-8-1 on the year.

Richards (6-1) allowed only two runners in the game, both on walks, while striking out 13 to earn the victory.

The Lady Senators scored all three runs of the game in the fourth inning, with the big blow being a two-run single by Whitney Wyatt.

Senior Nicole Hill (4-5) took the loss for the Hawks, allowing just the three runs and only five hits, while striking out five.

In game two, Baxley (6-2) tossed the first 5.0 innings, striking out five, before giving way to Ryan, who threw the final two frames to complete the no-hitter.

Wyatt was the hitting hero again for AUM, hitting a two-run home run in the top of the first inning. Allie Bobo added a two-run double in the fourth inning for insurance.

Senior Nichole Bruner (0-1) allowed five runs in 4.0 innings before giving way to junior Kayla Bratcher, who allowed just one hit and struck out four in the final 3.0 innings.

Huntingdon will look to rebound on Thursday, when it hosts NCAA Division II West Alabama in a doubleheader. First pitch of the opener is scheduled for 2 p.m.
