Lady Senators Soccer Picked Second

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Lady Senators soccer team has been picked to finish second in the preseason Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) coaches poll. The team received 69 total points with only preseason favorite Lee University receiving more.

AUM returns seven starters off last season’s team that finished the season with a 6-12-1 record and a 5-4-1 record in the conference.

Amber Elam, last year’s SSAC Offensive Player of the Year, returns for her junior season to lead the Lady Senators. AUM will open its season at 3 p.m. at Emmanuel College on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

For the fifth consecutive season, the Lee University women's soccer team has been selected by the coaches as the favorite to capture the 2009 SSAC Women's Soccer Championship.
