Bama's Media, Fan Day Set for Sunday

The University of Alabama football team’s annual media day and fan day is set for this Sunday, August 3rd.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama football team’s annual media day and fan day is set for this Sunday, August 3. Following media day, the team will hold an open practice in Bryant-Denny Stadium from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Players and coaches will be available for autographs immediately after the practice on the field.

Media Day will begin at 10 a.m. in the Naylor Stone Media Room on the second floor of the Mal M. Moore Athletic Building. Head Coach Nick Saban will address the media for approximately 20 minutes before offensive coordinator Jim McElwain and head defensive coach Kevin Steele will speak for approximately 15 minutes each. At the end of the press conference, the media will move to Bryant-Denny Stadium for player interviews beginning at 11:15 a.m. on the playing surface. The player interviews will conclude at 11:45 a.m. and the team will gather for a team picture. Lunch will be served to the attending media beginning at noon in the North End Zone Media Room at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Fans will be able to see the Crimson Tide in action as they practice in Bryant-Denny Stadium at 2:30 p.m. Fans may enter the stadium beginning at 1:30 p.m. via the west side gates (6-17) and occupy the lower bowl. The open practice is scheduled to last approximately two hours.

At the conclusion of practice, those wishing to participate in Fan Day will enter the field through the south tunnel and then exit via gates 17, 4/5, 37 and 29. If fans do not wish to view practice and would like to start lining up in the south tunnel, they can do so beginning at 1:30 p.m. Those fans can enter Gate 23 (A Gate) and wrap around to the east side.

Following practice, the Crimson Tide football team, coaching staff and head coach Nick Saban will be available for autographs on the field. The gate to the field will be open once the autograph session has been set up. Due to meeting commitments for the team and the coaching staff, the session is limited to 45 minutes. In an effort to facilitate as many autographs in the time allowed, fans will be limited to one item per person for autographs, and no posed photographs will be permitted. Posters and photos of Coach Saban will be available to all fans as they enter the stadium.

Coca-Cola products, bottled water and Golden Flake chips will be available to fans at Bryant-Denny Stadium for a special Fan Day price of just one dollar per item.

Fans may park at several locations on campus including the Ten Hoor decks and surface lots as well as the Tutwiler, Coleman Coliseum and Barnwell Hall parking lots. No special accommodations will be made for Recreational Vehicles (RVs), but there will be limited parking available only at Coleman Coliseum and on the grass lot on University Boulevard (RV Lot 9). 10:00 – 10:20 a.m. Alabama head coach Nick Saban meets with media

10:20 – 10:35 a.m. Alabama offensive coordinator Jim McElwain meets with media

10:35 – 10:50 a.m. Alabama head defensive coach Kevin Steele meets with media

On Field in Bryant-Denny Stadium:

11:15 – 11:45 a.m. Players available to media members for interviews, pictures, etc.

11:45 – Noon Team Picture

Media Room on second floor of North End Zone Complex:

Noon – 1:00 p.m. Lunch for Media

On Field in Bryant-Denny Stadium:

2:30 – 4:30 p.m. Open practice

4:30 – 5:15 p.m. Fan Day
