Bidding Opens for 2009 Biscuits' Jersey

By Adam Bagni

MONTGOMERY, AL – The Montgomery Biscuits are proud to announce the 2009 Biscuits’ Jersey Auction, with all proceeds to support the River Region United Way. The silent auction will conclude during Biscuits Charities Night on Saturday, August 29th, during the Biscuits' 7:05 p.m. game against the Carolina Mudcats at Riverwalk Stadium.

"The Biscuits are committed to helping the community," Biscuits' Co-Owner Sherrie Myers said. "This auction is exciting in that it benefits the River Region United Way while at the same time giving our terrific fans the opportunity to own a piece of Biscuits history."

Currently in progress on the Biscuits' official website, BiscuitsBaseball.com, the team is auctioning off the Biscuits' road jerseys from the 2009 season. Bids open at $150.00 for each jersey. In addition to bidding on current Biscuits' jerseys, fans will also have the opportunity to own the jersey of current Tampa Bay Rays star David Price, which will be auctioned as well.

The web auction will run until noon on Saturday, at which time the highest bids on each jersey will be used as the starting bids for the live silent auction during Biscuits’ Charities Night. On-line bids are not final, and bidders can be out-bid during Biscuits Charities Night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Fans who are unable to attend Biscuits’ Charities Night are encouraged to place the highest possible bid on their favorite jersey to give them their best chance to win.

At the conclusion of the live silent auction, the winning bidders will be announced and a post-game on-field ceremony will see the winners personally presented their jerseys by the members of the Biscuits.

Following the game and jersey ceremony, fans will be treated to a MAX Fireworks Spectacular. Tickets are available for Biscuits Charities Night along with each of the five games comprising the Biscuits final 2009 homestand. Tickets can be purchased by logging on to BiscuitsBaseball.com, visiting the Biscuits Box Office at Riverwalk Stadium or by calling the Biscuits at (334) 323-2255.
