MONTGOMERY - Lucas May broke a 6-6 tie in the top of the tenth inning, homering against Montgomery Biscuits (35-34; 69-70) closer Neal Frontz to give the Jacksonville Suns (35-35; 68-72) a 7-6 victory in the 2008 season finale at Riverwalk Stadium.

The Biscuits finished 2008 one game below .500 after droping three straight to the Suns, losing another back and forth battle on Labor Day afternoon.

Rhyne Hughes struck first, launching a solo home run the opposite way, giving Montgomery the early 1-0 lead.

After a Suns three run sixth inning, capped off by Kelley Gulledge's two-run shot and followed by a leadoff homer from Adam Godwin to start the seventh, the Biscuits stepped to the plate after the stretch, trailing 5-2.

In his final start as a professional, Mike Prochaska left the ballgame down by three runs. His teammates provided enough offense, giving him a no decision after six and 2/3 frames of work. Prochaska allowed five runs on seven hits, while walking and striking out three.

Matt Spring got into the act with a longball of his own in the bottom of the seventh inning, followed by an RBI single from Johnny Raburn and a productive groundball from Neil Walton, scoring the third run of the inning and tying the game at five.

The Biscuits and Suns traded scores in the eighth, which resulted in extra innings after a scoreless ninth. May emerged as the hero for the Suns, plating the final two runs for Jacksonville, including the game winning longball in the tenth.

Anthony Tomey earned the win, tossing two scoreless frames to push the Suns back to .500 in the second half (35-35) on the season's final day.

The Biscuits will return in April when they take on the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx in the opening series of 2009.
