By Alabama News Network

Tuscaloosa County sheriff's officials say a University of Alabama cornerback has been arrested on a DUI charge.

An arrest report says sophomore Geno Smith, of Atlanta, was taken into custody Sunday for driving under the influence and is being held on $1,000 bond in the county jail. Details on Smith's arrest and information on whether he had an attorney wasn't immediately available.

According to the University of Alabama football team's website, Smith played 13 games in his freshman season.
