The Montgomery Biscuits used 12 hits and good pitching to defeat the Mississippi Braves 8-3 on Sunday.

Montgomery got the scoring started in the 1st inning on a Cameron Seitzer sac fly, followed by two more runs in the 2nd. But it was a four-run 4th where the Biscuits took a 7-0 lead and never looked back.

Seven different players had hits for Montgomery, led by Luke Maile who had 3 hits including a solo home run.

Victor Mateo went 6 innings, giving up only 2 runs on 4 hits. He picked up his 7th win of the season, rebounding from a May 27 loss at Jacksonville.

Game three of the five game series is scheduled for Monday, June 2 at 7:05 p.m.
