Auburn Relying Heavily On Transfers Mason, Bowers

Auburn coach Bruce Pearl could get an immediate boost from two key transfers.

High-scoring guard Antoine Mason and top junior college prospect Cinmeon Bowers are among the newcomers on campus this summer. Auburn has also landed Marshall transfer Kareem Canty, who must sit out next season.
Pearl said Monday that Bowers and Mason both bring a physical style that the Tigers had been missing.
Mason was the nation's No. 2 scorer last season at Niagara, behind Creighton's Doug McDermott. He has already graduated and is eligible to play immediately.
Auburn had already announced the signing of onetime Virginia Tech recruit TJ Lang since Pearl's arrival. Lang got a release from his scholarship.
Pearl is relying on his staff to handle recruiting until an NCAA show cause penalty expires in August.
