Alabama Holds On To Beat LSU, 82-80

Trevor Releford had 21 points to lead four players in double-figures as Alabama hung on to beat LSU 82-80 Saturday night.
   
With Alabama (9-10, 3-3) clinging to an 81-80 lead Rodney Cooper made a free throw to put the Crimson Tide up by two, then raced down the court to block a potential game-winning shot by Hickey to preserve the win.
   
After falling behind early in the first half, Alabama led by as many as 19 points in the second half before LSU (12-6, 2-4) rallied to tie the game at 64-64 on a field goal by Tim Quarterman with 6:57 left.
   
Alabama, which had its 14-game SEC home court winning streak snapped by Florida Thursday night, has won nine straight games against LSU.
   
Rodney Cooper had 19 points, Shannon Hale 17 points and Levi Randolph 14 points for the Crimson Tide.
   
Johnny O'Bryant III led LSU with 18 points.
