Teen Football Player Dies in Crash

MONTGOMERY (WNCF) – A fatal Monday morning crash has taken the life of an Edgewood Academy football player.

18-year-old Jacob Benton of Titus died Monday when his car collided head-on with another vehicle in Pike County.

Police believe the teen was driving the wrong way on Alabama 167.

The other driver, 21-year-old Megan Wright of Anniston was wearing a seat belt and suffered non-life threatening injuries. Benton, however, was not wearing a seat belt.
