Selma Man Behind Bars After Shooting Mother's Boyfriend

From the West Alabama Newsroom--  A Selma man is behind bars on an assault charge -- after a shooting Monday night in Selma.

Police say 23 year old Michael Blevins shot the victim over his mother.

"And we believe that a fight occurred between the mother and the victim, the victim is the boyfriend of Michael Blevins' mom," said Lt. Curtis Muhannad.

Muhannad says the incident happened at around 8:45 Monday night on the 2100 block of LL Anderson Avenue.

He says the victim was shot once in the chest and once in the arm. He says the victim tried to drive himself the hospital but crashed on the way.

Blevins is in the Dallas County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
