A Troy University student is arrested in connection with an armed robbery that happened on campus last week. Troy University officials say 21-year-old Christopher Cook is the second of three men who robbed a student at gunpoint.

Troy University officials say they are investigating the case against Christopher Cook, a sophomore nursing student. They say charges like this could lead to him being expelled from the school

Last Tuesday night, Troy University police say three men walked up to a student in a parking lot and robbed him at gunpoint, taking his phone, wallet and some cash.

Last week, they arrested a 14-year-old for the armed robbery. On Wednesday, they arrested Christopher Cook, a Troy student.

"Anytime a student violates one of the standards of conduct, especially at this level, it's a sad day," said Derrick Brewster, Assistant Dean of Student Services

University officials say they won't automatically expel Cook, until they examine all the evidence. "Interviewing some individuals, getting some information from the individual involved in the incident, you have to make sure you have accurate information before you draw conclusions on the incident," said Brewster.

Still Troy students say the arrests make them feel safer. "I can walk around campus without worry about, you know, getting robbed, especially with a gun. That's a pretty big deal," said Latisha Reid, a Troy student.

According to the university handbook, Cook will be suspended from classes while his felony case goes forward. They say he could also face probation or expulsion.
