Tropical Storm Isaac's Effect on West Nile Virus

Alabama's state health officer and Montogmery officials are asking for the publics help fighting the West Nile Virus with the approach of Isaac.

They're asking residents to clear out standing water around their homes including from flower pots, gutters and childrens swimming pools.

Mosquitoes that carry the West Nile Virus live and breed in these areas.

They're also urging residents to take precautions when giong outside...avoid going out at dusk and dawn, where loose fitting long shirts and pants.

So far Montgomery County has had 12 cases and one that resulted in death.
