CBS 8 Sports Analyst John Longshore was on CBS 8 News at 6:00 to talk about Auburn's 0-2 start, Bama's season opening SEC game and Troy's first-ever chance to host an SEC team.
Longshore says Auburn needs better coaching. He says the Tigers 0-2 start means that Saturday's game against Louisiana-Monroe at home is a must-win game. Because ULM upset then-eighth ranked Arkansas last Saturday, he says this game might not be as easy as it appeared before the season started.
Troy will make history when it hosts its first-ever SEC game when Mississippi State comes to town. Longshore says Mississippi State is riding high after its 2-0 start, while Troy is coming off a loss to Louisiana-LaFayette.
As for the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide, Longshore points out that there are still some improvements to be made, after Bama gave up six sacks against Western Kentucky.
