Not many people can say they've ridden in a hearse, at least not while they were still alive. Now a haunted hearse tour is giving you that chance.
"Our first ghostly tale involves the Western Railway and a man by the name of CatFish Bob" explains driver Shannon Fontaine.
CatFish Bob. A man whose life came to a shocking end. Rumor has it, he still haunts the streets of Montgomery like all of the victims mentioned on the tour.
"When you do this, you're going to learn a lot about Montgomery that you might not be aware of. I grew up right here in Montgomery and some of these stories I didn't know. They're that old. They date back to the 1800s" Fontaine says.
Fontaine drives a 1988 Caprice named 'Hilda,' while telling chilling stories of events said to have happened in Montgomery. The hearse can only hold up to 6 people, offering a more personable, creepy experience. I spoke with some eager passengers before they took off. All were excited to learn about the dark side of the Capitol City.
"I'm just excited about riding in the hearse. I think it'll be a good time. A good, scary time" says passenger John Averrett
The haunted hearse rides take off nightly from 7PM to midnight in downtown Montgomery. Reservations are recommended. The cost is $15 per person.
