Greenville Pharmacy Hit By Burglars, Steal Over $15,000 In Medicine

By Catalina Trivino

An overnight break-in at a Greenville pharmacy ends with several hundred prescription pills missing... and the burglars still on the loose -- but this isn't the first time the pharmacy has been the target of criminals.

Two minutes and 34 seconds -- that's how long it took two burglars to steal thousands of dollars in prescription pills at the Medicine Shoppe pharmacy. Now, police say they need your help identifying the burglars in this video.

The break-in started with a rock being thrown through the front door. It happened around 4 a.m. Monday. That's when police say two black males entered the pharmacy.

You see them scrambling through shelves, loading hundreds of pill bottles into what looks like pillowcases. The two men then crawled out the door and ran north on North Pine St.

"It definitely can lean towards it being someone more local and knowing the area better, having somewhere to go without a vehicle," Said Greenville Police investigator, Lovvorn. "It is possible that it is a group from out of town that simply parked the car in a different area."

Lovvorn says the burglars used a cement rock to break in.

Medicine Shoppe pharmacy supervisor, Jimmy Ansley, says they stole at least $15,000 worth of pills, including Lortab, Hydrocodon and Promethazine products.

But it's not the first time this has happened -- last February, the Medicine Shoppe was hit by another burglar -- still a mystery for police and Ansley, who told us he feels 'frustrated, aggrevated and violated' after both incidents. Ansley says the pharmacy has now started beefing up their security.

Police are describing the suspects as two black males. One was wearing a black shirt, grey pants, and a blue cloth hat, weighing about 200 lbs. and about 5'9" tall. The other suspect was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and a black hoodie, weighing about 180 lbs. and about 5'8" tall.
