Dry Conditions Spark Fire Weather Watch

By Jackie Hauser

Not only is it cold, but it's also significantly drier and now the National Weather Service is urging you to think before you start your next outdoor fire.

Forecasters say the dry, windy weather is increasing the risk of wildfires in southeast Alabama.

The National Weather Service issued a fire weather watch for the area south and east of a line extending from Autaugaville to Alexander City.

Forecasters say it's now easier for fires to start and spread, so they say you shouldn't burn outdoors.
