Saturday Festival For Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center

By Sarah Cantey

You have a chance this weekend to give back to a center that helps some of our most vulnerable citizens- children that are victims of abuse.

The Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center is hosting their summer festival this Saturday.
The fundraiser's open to the public from 10 a.m.-2 the Troy Recreation Center, rain or shine.
The $8 admission will cover a day full of games, face painting, seeing different characters and much more.
That money goes towards the non profit that serves Pike, Bullock, Barbour and Coffee Counties.
Executive Director Pike Regional Advocacy Center Camille Downing said, "Oh my goodness if you could see the little faces that come through here it would mean so much. So much. I mean it takes so little to put a smile on a child's face. So I encourage everyone to come out and have a good time. At a low price. The price is only $8, it's cheaper than DisneyLand or DisneyWorld and it's a full day event."
The center does forensic interviews with abused children. They video tape so the child doesn't have to repeat their story over and over again to lessen the trauma.
