Police in Mobile say they've confiscated up to $9.6 million worth of unfinished synthetic marijuana as part of an ongoing crackdown on drugs in the city.

Mobile Mayor Samuel Jones called the seizure one of the city's most significant.

The Press-Register reports that the seizure is the culmination of a two-month investigation by the Mobile County Street Enforcement Narcotics Team and the Mobile Police Department's Narcotics and Vice units.

Police said 706 pounds of finished and unfinished synthetic marijuana was seized as part of four search warrants around Mobile. In addition, police seized $26,620 in cash, 19 weapons and four vehicles.
