Deadly Shooting Marks Montgomery's 24th Murder

“At 4:30, patrol units responded to Stonehenge Place on the report of a subject shot."

A domestic argument at Woodmere at the Lake apartments soon escalated into a violent situation.

"One couple drove up in a car that had been involved with an argument with another couple," said Captain Ron Cook of the Montgomery Police Department.

The two couples were arguing in front of apartment 1409 D when one of the women pulled out a gun.

"At that time, she took the weapon and pointed it at the additional guy's girlfriend," said Cook.

But her victim soon changed.

"He tried to stop her from pointing the weapon at the girl and at that time she turned and shot him one time,” said Cook.

The fatal shot hit the 26-year old black male in the chest.

Officers took two people into custody but have not yet released any names.

This is Montgomery’s 24th murder this year.
