Seat Check Saturday Helps Keep Local Children Safe

Tools

By Alabama News Network

Saturday was "Seat Check Saturday", an event geared to keeping children safe while they're riding in vehicles.

Parents and caregivers stopped by the Shoppes at Eastchase to have their child safety seats checked and properly installed by safety technicians, and the best part--it was all free.

To support the cause, Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange also officially declared this week "Child Passenger Safety week."

Every year, thousands of children are tragically injured or killed in automobile crashes.

Today's events are part of  a national campaign called "Child Passenger Safety Week."
