Woman and Unborn Child Murdered, MPD Continues to Investigate

The Montgomery Police Department has identified the homicide victim whose body was discovered April 26 as Arkita K. Stevenson, 19, of Montgomery. The victim was determined to be 36 weeks pregnant at the time she was killed, and police classify the deaths of Ms. Stevenson and her unborn child as a double homicide.

Ms. Stevenson’s body was discovered at approximately 6:30 a.m. Tuesday near a basketball court behind a church in the 200 block of West Fleming Road. The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences has confirmed that she died from a single gunshot wound.

The investigation is continuing, and no additional information is available for release.

that is so sad what happen kita i went to school with her at jd high school and i use to could not wait to get to pe just to her talk the hole period .i give the family nothing but my prayers ily u kita
