University of Alabama President Resigns

he and his wife Jan made the decision together after discussing how to best address her health. It doesn't disclose what sort of health issues she is experiencing.


University trustees are scheduled to meet Thursday and will discuss a successor to Bailey.


A two-graduate of the university and Alabama native, Bailey took over as president on September 5th of this year. He came to Tuscaloosa after leaving his position as President of Texas Tech University.

After less than two months as University of Alabama President, Guy Bailey is stepping down.

This comes after the university released a statement today saying that Bailey is stepping down because of his wife's health.
