State Unemlpoyment Numbers Decline

By Alabama News Network

Good news on the jobs front in Alabama... the state's unemployment rate is down again.

The rate has dropped to six point eight percent... that's down from May's rate at six point nine percent.

Department of Labor Commissioner Tom Surtees said the past four months have shown growth in the labor force and growth in employment.

Three of those months had reductions in unemployment as well.

Its not all good news, though, The counties with the highest rates are Wilcox at over 14 percent, Perry at 12 point  six percent and Dallas at 12 point  five percent.
