Two Die, Five Injured in Perry County Car Crash

Two people died, five others injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Perry County. Alabama State Troopers say the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. north of Marion on County Road 29.

56-year-old Shirley Bettis of Denver, Colorado and 11-year-old Taqualaya Anderson of Brent, Alabama died in the car accident. State Troopers say five other people were injured in the crash and taken to the DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa and Children's Hospital in Birmingham.

The accident is still under investigation. No word on the status of the injured victims' conditions.
