TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - More businesses are returning to part of Tuscaloosa badly damaged by last year's tornado.
The Tuscaloosa News reports (http://bit.ly/Ngdy0r ) that Full Moon BBQ is preparing to open later this month in the area along 15th Street and McFarland Boulevard. A Japanese steakhouse called Hokkaido is slated to open in the area the following month.
Developer Stan Pate said he is increasing parking space at the site where a CVS Pharmacy damaged in the storm is expected to return by the end of the year.
Pate is critical of some of the city's redevelopment decisions in the tornado recovery zone, but he said he's encouraged by business owners who have navigated city rules.
