TROY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama state troopers say a Troy man and his 14-year-old son have died in a traffic accident.

34-year-old Timothy H. Green was driving in Pike County when his Chevrolet Silverado ran off the road, hit a tree and overturned.

The Pike County coroner pronounced Green and his son Timothy dead at the scene. Three other passengers were taken to Troy Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Authorities say seat belts were not used in the crash. State troopers say the investigation into the accident is ongoing, but they say use of an electronic device and speed were factors in the crash.
