Trick Or Treating On Commerce Street in Greenville

By Amanda Wade

Thousands of people, goblins, and ghouls filled Commerce Street tonight in Greenville for Trick or Treating and even a few haunting performances.

Commerce Street closed to traffic and opened for trick or treating on the spookiest night of year.  One little girl says she likes Halloween just because she gets to dress up, "I don't like to eat candy," says Janae Allen, dressed up as a zombie.
Other kids say their costumes were inspired by their dream jobs. Semaja Peagler says she wants to be a construction worker when she grows up, "Not just because you make a lot of money, it's because you get to do things that you never have done before, like you get to go to different places."
Local business owners stood outside their doors and gave out candy. One local business said they bought 2000 pieces of candy to prepare for all of their trick or treaters.
The children ended the night with dancing and a performance inspired by The Adams Family.
