Three Abbeville Basketball Players Injured in Crash

A single-vehicle crash this afternoon in Henry County injured three members of the Abbeville High School boys’ basketball team. Cordarius Savon King, 17, of Abbeville, was driving a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria when the vehicle crashed.

Initial investigation indicates that King was traveling south on County Road 107 above the posted speed limit when the vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a tree.

King and passengers Quintavious Ladon Sampson, 17, of Abbeville, and Siran Neal, 16, of Abbeville were transported to Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.

King and Neal were treated for non-life threatening injuries. Sampson is listed in critical condition. None of the teens were wearing their seatbelts.

The crash occurred at 2:50 p.m. five miles south of Abbeville. State Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
