The Montgomery County Sheriff Deputies are Spreading Christmas Cheer to Area Families

By Kristen Fisher

The Montgomery County Sheriff deputies spread some Christmas cheer to area families Saturday.

Deputies chose four needy family's to take part in their Christmas giveaway.

Isaac Forbes, Corporal of the Montgomery Sheriff's Department, says it's giving back to the community.

"We don't want people to think all we do is put them in jail. We just want to make sure we do our community service and that we serve the people."

Claudia Barnes one of the family members who received gifts says she is happy her kids actually got to meet Saint Nick.

"Santa came a little early this year and I am very excited. I'm excited for them and as long as they are happy I am happy," Barnes said.

Claudia Barnes' family lost everything when their mobile home caught fire.

The gifts for the four families were donated by sheriff's deputies and neighbors.

Santa Claus himself visited with each of them to help pass out gifts to the kids.
