Teresa Thorne's "Last Chance for Justice" Book Signing

By Alabama News Network

Dozens of people gathered at a Montgomery bookstore today to meet author Teresa Thorne.

She has written a book with new details about the investigation into Birmingham's 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing in 1963.

The book is called "Last Chance for Justice" and it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the bombings this year.

Some of the investigators on the case were there for one of the first times since the investigation ended.

Three men were ultimately convicted of the crime that killed four young girls, but those convictions came decades after the bombings.

Thorne says her book explores why it took so long for justice to be served. She began work on the book in 2008. It is out in stores now.
