Tallassee Police Investigate First Murder Case of the Year

This is Tallassee's first homicide of the year.

Tallassee Police are investigating its first murder.

Around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, police were called out to an altercation on Griffith Lane.

When police arrived at the scene, they found 21 year old Christian Kyle Adkins of Tallassee with a gunshot wound to the chest area.

Adkins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe Adkins had gone to the residence on Griffith Lane to diffuse a domestic disturbance.

Michael Foster, 57, the father-in-law of Adkins then shot Adkins.

Foster was taken to the Tallasee City Jail and is being charged with murder

The investigation continues by Tallassee Police.
