MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A summary of action in the Alabama Legislature on Thursday, the fifth meeting day of the 2013 regular session:
HOUSE:
-Passed after more than four hours of debate a bill to give local schools more flexibility over rules and regulations. Goes to Senate.
SENATE:
-Approved legislation that guarantees the state will repay money borrowed from an oil and gas revenues savings plan. Goes back to House for approval of a Senate amendment.
-Debated a bill to reorganize the legislative staff, but did not vote on it.
AGENDA:
-Senate meets at 10 a.m. Tuesday and House meets at 1 p. m. Tuesday.
