CBS 8 Sports Analyst John Longshore was on CBS 8 News at 6:00 to preview two big games -- Alabama's showdown with LSU and Auburn's attempt to get back in the win column.
Auburn hosts New Mexico State on Saturday. Longshore doesn't think the Tigers' coaching will get in the way of claiming a much-needed victory to improve Auburn's current 1-7 record. But he thinks Auburn's upcoming games with Georgia and Alabama will be ugly.
Longshore thinks Auburn needs to clean house, starting with athletic director Jay Jacobs and including head football coach Gene Chizik. He says fans can't be blamed for giving up on the team's dismal year.
As for the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide, Longshore believes the only way LSU will be a threat on Saturday night is if it can improve its passing game. Bama is currently an 8-9 point favorite.
