Southern Writers Project Kicks Off at ASF

The Alabama Shakespeare festival is celebrating Southern Literature.

Today is the Annual Southern Writers Project.

Letting story-tellers have a chance to develop work by teaming up with actors, directors, and an audience.

Four weeks are chosesn to workshop,  for live readings and discussion.

With a few breaks for helpings of fine southern food.

Some writers travel from across the country to be a part of it.

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival's goal is to create theater that speaks specifically to the people of our region.
