A man is sentenced for a murder that happened in Montgomery more than 30 years ago.

Willie Wilson junior pled guilty to the murder of Connie Gantt and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Gantt was murdered in March 1979 off Beardsley Drive.

Records show she was taken from her car outside Embers Lounge restaurant off Atlanta Highway.

The case went cold until there was a match on Wilson's DNA to DNA found on Gantt's clothes.

Wilson's DNA was in the system for a 1980 conviction where he kidnapped, robbed and assaulted a victim.

The victim in this case is my beautiful daughter-in-law's mother. Willie Wilson took away her chance to meet and love our grandchildren. I appreciate all the people who never forgot Connie and worked to find the man responsible for taking her away from her children and her family. There is no punishment strong enough for what he put this family through, but I find some comfort in knowing that one day he will most certainly answer to God for what he has done. My sweet daughter-in-law has gone through unimaginable pain from this horrible act. God rest your soul, Connie, and know that you will live in our hearts. Thank you for giving us your daughter- we love her very much.
