U. S. Senator Richard Shelby is conducting several town hall meetings around the state Monday and one of his stops was in Selma.
Dozens of people came out to the historic St. James Hotel to hear and discuss the issues with the senator over lunch. Some of the topics discussed were government spending, the national debt, jobs and immigration.
"I hope it does some good, if he comes, I hope he listens to what people are telling him but I do thinks it's good that at least he's making the effort to come through and talk to the constituents."
Senator Shelby visits and holds town hall meetings in all 67 Alabama counties every year.
