From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom-- The city of Selma is hosting a series of meetings to help residents make a smooth transition from city garbage collection to private garbage collection.
Mayor George Evans says the first of nine community meetings is at the Selma High School auditorium Thursday night at six.
Evans says the meetings are an opportunity for residents to get the information they need to sign up for garbage pick-up.
Advanced-Disposal will take over garbage pick up in the city next month.
