From the West Alabama Newsroom--  The Selma City School Board is moving forward with a corrective action plan to address the findings of a recent state investigation that found sexual and academic misconduct in the school system.

The board discussed the plan -- and some minor changes that need to be made to it before it's voted-on at their next meeting. The corrective action plan was submitted to the state by the superintendent. It's been approved by the state -- and now has to be approved by the school board.

"Once the state department looked at the plan and gave us an okay on the direction that we were headed, they sent the plan back to us, for us to go over and look at it and then make minor adjustments," said School Board Chairman Henry Hicks.

Restoring the public trust -- and how to involve the public in the process -- were also discussed at the work session. The next board meeting is December 12th.
