From the West Alabama Newsroom-- A Selma nonprofit needs help to feed people in need during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Temple Gate Community Center is stocking up on food to give away to as many needy families as possible during the week of Thanksgiving.

Director Charles Winston says the group is packing food boxes to deliver to families and for pick-up. He says the group has been helping families in the community for about a year and all of the work is done by volunteers.

"Some families will not have food on their tables Thanksgiving, said Winston. "What we want to do is bring some kind of sunshine to as many families as we can."
