Selma Man Gets Thirty Year Sentence for 2011 Murder

From the West Alabama Newsroom-- A Selma man set to go trial today for murder -- pleads guilty to the crime just before his trial is set to get started.

Jermaine Edwards was sentenced to 30 years in prison Monday for the murder of Demius Jackson. Jackson was shot and killed at the GWC Homes in Selma back in April of 2011.

Sharon Jackson is the victim's mother.  "I can't say that I'm relieved because a mother's love for her child never ends and I miss my son," she said.

District Attorney Michael Jackson says Edwards will remain in the Dallas County Jail until he heads off to a state prison in the next few months.
