Selma-Dallas Co. Prepare for Annual Fall Tourism Season

By George McDonald

From the West Alabama Newsroom--  The annual fall tourism season is set to get underway in Selma and Dallas County. It draws thousands of people to the area each year -- and local businesses are gearing up to take full advantage.

The fall tourism season in Selma and Dallas County kicks off in a couple of weeks. Tourism officials say the area will host more than a dozen outdoor events and festivals over about a six week period.

Selma-Dallas County Tourism Director Ashley Mason says the fall tourism season kicks off September 30th with the Central Alabama Fair -- and runs to about mid-November.

"It brings visitors from all over the place and lets them know about your heritage, your history, everything that's here. It generates revenue for the city and revenue boosts the economy and that's what we want for Selma."
