SEC Media Days Preview with John Longshore

By Ellis Eskew

The frenzy of SEC Media Days is about to begin once again.
And this year, with the launch of the SEC Network coming up, Sports Analyst John Longshore believes it will be the main topic of the convention.

"It debuts Aug. 14th and it's a platform for the SEC to be there with media from all around the country. Fans are very concerned, 'Is my cable company going to be picking this network up?,' which I believe that they will," said Longshore.

There will be several teams losing their star quarterbacks that may change their game.
But Longshore doesn't believe A.J. McCarron's absence  will impact this Alabama team.

"There is a lot of pressure on Jacob Coker because there has been a lot of hype and build up around him. But as I mentioned earlier, Alabama's offense really revolves around the skill position players. You got to have a game manager. A.J. never liked that label, but that's what you got to be and let the other pieces of the puzzle let them do their work," said Longshore.

As for Auburn, the big question is whether they can keep their momentum from last year's turnaround that led them to the national championship game.

"Auburn could have a better team this year. But I'm not sure the record will be better. I think Auburn is scheduled more difficult games against LSU and SC at home and on the road to GA and AL. They got that game in Manhattan, KS against Kansas State and teams are going to be ready for Auburn this year. Auburn is not going to sneak up on anybody," said Longshore.

SEC Media Days start Monday, July 14th in Hoover, AL.
