Rising River Theatens to Flood New Restaurant at Selma City Marina

By George McDonald

From the West Alabama Newsroom--   The rising Alabama River in Selma is threatening the new restaurant at the city marina for the second time this year.

Water from the swollen river is only inches away from creeping inside the Sandbar restaurant.

The river is only a foot below flood stage at 44 feet. That's more than ten feet higher than it was when the river flooded the marina about a month ago.

The Selma area has had more than seven inches of rain over the past three days.
