A man appeared in court Monday after police say he invaded an Elmore County couple's home and left them seriously injured.

Ricky Dumas pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder, robbery, and burglary.

Dumas was no stranger to Roy and Mary Parker, so when Roy Parker opened his door and saw him standing there an August night, he wasn't alarmed.

Dumas told Parker he needed gas money and when Parker turned, Dumas hit him over the head with a hammer.

He then attacked Mary Parker in her bedroom.

Dumas’ sentencing will be April sixth.
