Regions Bank Hit with Cyberattack

A Regions Bank spokesman says a cyberattack that jammed online and mobile banking did not result in the release of any customers' personal or financial information.

The Birmingham-based bank used social media to tell its customers Thursday afternoon that it was under cyberattack, and its website and online banking had been compromised.

A bank spokesman says the cyberattack involved jamming the bank's website to keep legitimate customers from getting into it, and there was no access to customer information. Other major U.S. banks have experienced similar problems in the last two months.
