'Rally in the Alley' Kicks Off River Region United Way Campaign

By Ellis Eskew

Thursday evening, the River Region United Way kicked off their annual campaign event with 'Rally in the Alley'.

It was held in downtown Montgomery's Alley Station.
The River Region United Way partnered with EMERGE young professionals group to help kick off the annual event.
The United Way assists 46 different organizations in the area.
And they need help from volunteers to make it successful.

"It means a lot to us and our organization. Every dollar that we receive from the United Way at the Prattville YMCA goes to help fund our scholarship program. Last year we gave away almost 200 thousand in scholarships," said David Lewis with the Prattville YMCA

The campaign goal this year is $5.35 million dollars. So far, $2.27 million has been raised.
If you would like to get involved with one of the many organizations, contact the River Region United Way.
