Voting Open: Prattville In 1st Place to Win Coca-Cola "America Is Your Park" Prize
VOTE FOR PRATT PARK: www.livepositively.com/parks
Press Release: The City of Prattville
Coca-Cola is calling people out to their favorite park to vote this summer in the third annual "America is Your Park" campaign. The City of Prattville is asking its residents to help with voting. The park with the highest number of votes will win $100,000 in grant funds. Second place garners $50,000 and third place will win $25,000. Coca-Cola will award, at random, a $15,000 grant to a park that comes in 4th-25th place on the leaderboard by the end of the contest. Coca-Cola collaborated with the National Park Foundation, America's State Parks and the National Recreation & Park Association to develop the grants campaign.
We have singled out Pratt Park for the contest and are concentrating all of our voting efforts there. Everyone who enjoys Pratt Park and A Child's Place can make a difference by casting a vote at Coca-Cola's www.livepositively.com/parks. Once you navigate to the website overview page, please be sure to register your foursquare account so you can earn Pratt Park 100 votes every time you "check-in" at the park. If you do not have a foursquare account, please register for one, then login with your Facebook account. It will ask you for an email and password so you can verify your account by clicking the link in an email from foursquare. Once completed, download the foursquare app on your smart phone (iPhone, Blackberry, Droid) and login. Once you get to Pratt Park, "check-in" using foursquare. Pratt Park will be awarded 100 votes for every check-in.
Please share your vote on Facebook and/or Twitter; then tell your family and friends to vote, too. The more we get the word out, the more votes we can secure in our efforts to turn Pratt Park into a showcase for our community. Remember that you can go online daily to cast your vote for Pratt Park up until the deadline and there is no voting limit.
"This is a great way for the community to come together to work towards a common goal," stated Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. "The entire City of Prattville, especially our children, will benefit tremendously should we succeed in winning this grant."
Voting ends on July 15, 2012, so come out to Pratt Park and "check-in" or go online and vote! Our plans, if we win first place, are to install a splash pad at Pratt Park!
